QTC Metric Gears Announces Availability of Quick-Turn Modified Stock Gears
“We are thrilled to offer the J Series line of gears,” said Paul Persaud, Manager of QTC Gears, “We serve some of the most demanding customers in the automation, automotive and robotics industries where fast prototyping is critical. We are proud to partner with KHK to offer our customers access to a much wider range of gears at much quicker turnaround times than previously possible.”
The J Series line of gears are “semi-custom” versions of standard KHK stock gears that undergo simple modification procedures, including opening the bore, adding of keyway and drill and tap of set screw holes. Using this manufacturing method allows a drastic reduction in the manufacturing lead time of prototypes while also greatly improving convenience for the user.
“Some of the stock items available for quick modifications include our steel and plastic spur gears, helical gears, spiral miter gears, gear racks, screw gear, worm gears and worms,” said Naoji Kohara, Export Manager of KHK Gears, “We are looking forward to working together with QTC Metric Gears to further expand KHK’s growth in the North American market.”
The standard lead time for J Series gears is 5 working days from receipt of order, plus transit time from KHK’s manufacturing facility in Kawaguchi-shi Saitama-ken, Japan. There are now over 5,000 J Series configurations currently available in addition to the over 10,000 standard KHK stock gears available for purchase through QTC Metric Gears.
In 1993, the combination of an ever increasing demand for metric gears and a strong growth in the power transmission market spawned QTC Metric Gears. As a Designatronics Inc. company, QTC Metric Gears provides one of the largest selections of stock metric gears in the United States. QTC Metric Gears is the premier supplier for off-the-shelf metric gears.
