CAUTION : Secondary operations may be performed on these
gears except for modifications near or on the gear teeth.
NOTE: The allowable torques shown in the table are the
calculated values according to JGMA Standards 401-01 and 402-01. The
backlash values shown in the table are the theoretical values of a pair of
identical gears in mesh.
USEFUL HINT : When assembling a geartrain, if the shafts are not precisely parallel, the result will be poor tooth contact resulting in a high wear rate.
Poor tooth contact and pitting |
This picture is an example of poor tooth contact
of a SSG3-30 gear which had only 30% of the gear tooth in proper contact.
In this example the gear oil used is equivalent to JIS gear oil category
2, #3, and the design conditions were 42.5 kgf |
