except for modifications near or on the gear teeth.
NOTE: The allowable torques shown in the table are the calculated
values according to JGMA Standards 401-01 and 402-01. The backlash values
shown in the table are the theoretical values of a pair of identical gears in
mesh.
USEFUL HINT: There are three methods for lubricating gears in
general machinery use:
1. Grease
2. Splash lubrication
3. Forced oil circulation.
