CAUTION: For offset shaft applications, RH and RH or LH and LH are meshed to make up a set of screw gears or crossed-helical gears. For parallel shaft applications, mesh opposite hands for helical gear sets. See the "Selection Hints" in this catalog.
CAUTION: The maximum allowable sliding speed of SN gears due to heat is 2.5 m/s.
NOTE: The allowable torques shown in the table are calculated from the Niemann formula. Please see the "Selection Hints" for further detail.
NOTE: The backlash values shown in the table are the theoretical values in the normal direction of a pair of identical gears in mesh.
USEFUL HINT: In order to increase the wear resistance of SN screw gears made of S45C, KHK can induction harden the teeth to HRC4853 at additional cost.
